Cutting-Edge Diagnostics and Testing

Our highly trained physicians rely on a combination of evaluations to diagnose food allergies. First we review your child's medical history and assess any allergic reactions that may have occurred. Then we conduct a relatively painless skin test and blood screening to measure your child’s degree of sensitivity to food allergens. The skin test provides results within 15–20 minutes during your office visit.

In some cases, evaluations from past medical history, skin tests and blood screenings may not produce clear results. We take the next step of performing physician-supervised oral food tests to definitively exclude or diagnose food allergies.

To give patients a better understanding of what to expect and how to prepare for an appointment with a food allergist, we've provided a list of food allergy FAQs.
