Social Pediatrics Residency Program
Welcome to the Residency Program in Social Pediatrics! Our three year residency program is designed to train pediatricians with a special interest in advocacy, health policy, social justice, community and public health. In addition to clinical inpatient training at the Children’s Hospital at Montefiore, Social Pediatric residents focus on the bio-psychosocial aspects of medical care, population health and community advocacy. Residents will have their outpatient training at the Comprehensive Health Care Center (CHCC), a federally qualified health center located at 161st Street in the South Bronx, which serves the poorest congressional district of the United States.
Graduates from the Social Pediatrics Program have gone on to provide care to children throughout the country both as primary care pediatricians and specialists. Many from our ranks have also entered academic medicine, public health and global health.
If you decide to apply, remember that we have a separate match from the categorical pediatric program, so you must file a separate ERAS application with us. Please look through the additional information about our program included in the above links. Do not hesitate to contact me with any questions.
