Why should I choose the Social Pediatrics Program?
The Social Pediatrics program is purposeful in its integration of didactic sessions and collaboration with community groups.
What makes the Social Pediatrics program unique?
Throughout your 3 years of residency you will receive enhanced training in social medicine principles and different experiential learning experiences including Social Medicine Immersion elective, Social Pediatric Rounds, Social Pediatrics research elective and a Health Systems Course.
What do residents do after they graduate?
Our residents go on to practice in a wide variety of areas. Our residents have gone on to careers in both primary care and subspecialty fellowships. Some of our graduates have also gone onto other training opportunities such as a Preventive Medicine Fellowship or other public health careers like the Centers for Disease Control Epidemic Intelligence Service training. Many of our graduates have become leaders in academia, community and public health.
If I decide I want to do subspecialty fellowship training, will my options be limited?
No, the Social Peds track does not limit your choice. You have ample elective time to explore subspecialties of interest.
