The nationally recognized Division of Pediatric Urology in the Department of Urology at Montefiore Einstein is one of the few hospital-based programs in the New York area with a comprehensive onsite urology team dedicated to treating young patients.

Our board-certified pediatric urologists, together with our experienced nurse practitioners and support team, draw on their specialized expertise to diagnose and treat problems that affect children’s genitourinary tract, including kidneys, ureters, bladder, and genitalia. We offer families the convenience of a single destination for examinations, laboratory and radiology tests, pre-surgery consultations and surgery.

With compassion and understanding, our team of experts fosters a welcoming environment for children and their families, treating problems ranging from bedwetting and urinary tract infections (UTIs) to complex diseases requiring multidisciplinary care, advanced surgeries, and the latest technology.

SERVICES & PROGRAMS

The Division of Urology at CHAM provides the latest diagnosis and treatment programs for young patients. For the safety and comfort of your child, we may use minimally invasive procedures in case of surgery. These include endoscopy, laparoscopic surgery and robotic surgery.

Most urology procedures for children are performed on an outpatient basis, so your child will return home the same day. Although these do require general anesthesia, our experienced pediatric anesthesiologists safely use these anesthetics every day. We provide families with counseling and a comprehensive packet detailing what to expect before and after surgery.

Urology Spotlight The mission of the Department of Urology at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine is to be a world leader in both basic and translational research in bladder physiology.

Under the aegis of the Institute for Smooth Muscle Biology, the department has made significant contributions to the field of urology, with much of its research establishing precedents in the field.
