Family Advisory Council
The Family Advisory Council (FAC) at the Children’s Hospital at Montefiore works closely with the doctors, nurses and staff to support a family-centered environment where children and their families feel welcome and are an important part of the care team. Members include adult family members of children who receive care at CHAM.
What is the CHAM Family Advisory council?
- help create and review information and materials for families.
- give input on hospital programs.
- serve on hospital committees to improve patient safety and quality of care.
- provide opportunities for families to meet and support each other.
- train hospital staff on family-centered approaches to care.
- represent the hospital at national, regional and local conferences and trainings.
What it means to be an active participant?
As an active “CHAM FAC Parent Advisor” you would be invited to join as a partner and member on a hospital project or committee, provide your feedback on policies, care practices, patient education materials and more. Along with CHAM staff, you would help raise awareness about Family Advisory work at CHAM and community events.
