J.E. AND Z.B. BUTLER CENTER FOR CHILDREN AND FAMILIES

Behavioral Health Treatment Services

Our experienced team includes psychologists, social workers, and a psychiatrist. We provide a wide array of mental health services, including therapy and psychiatric evaluations for children and adolescents who have experienced traumatic events. The evidence-based modalities of treatment offered are all family-based and include:

Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavior Therapy (TF-CBT)
Our Behavioral Health team specializes in treatment of trauma for children ages 4-18. Our team utilizes trauma focused cognitive behavioral therapy (TF-CBT), an evidence-based psychotherapy that aims to address the needs of children and adolescents with symptoms of post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and other difficulties related to traumatic life events. TF-CBT is a family-based treatment, with both the child and the caregiver(s) participating in the therapy.

Problematic Sexual Behavior Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for School-Aged Children (PSB-CBT-S)
Our Behavioral Health team also specializes in treatment for school age children, ages 7- 11, with challenging sexual behavior. The Butler Center is one of the only programs in the New York City area that utilizes the University of Oklahoma’s evidence-based treatment model for Problematic Sexual Behavior – Cognitive Behavior Therapy (PSB-CBT-S). PSB-CBT-S is a family-based therapy and is heavily caregiver focused.

Our clinic is currently open Monday through Friday from 8:30am to 5pm. Treatment is available in English and Spanish. We are currently offering in-person and virtual therapy services. We accept most insurances and can verify if your insurance is accepted prior to beginning consultation.
