The Geraldine Richtand Pediatric Marrow & Blood Cell Transplantation Program

Blood and Marrow Transplantation (BMT) provides a potentially curative treatment for many malignant and nonmalignant diseases. Our team at Children’s Hospital at Montefiore provides comprehensive family-centered, state-of-the art clinical service to patients that may benefit from the this potentially therapeutic intervention.

The BMT program at CHAM is certified by the Foundation of the Accreditation of Cellular Therapy (FACT) and National Marrow Donor Program (NMDP). CHAM is an active member of Pediatric Blood and Marrow Transplantation Consortium (PBMTC), Children’s Oncology Group (COG) and the Center of International Blood and Marrow Transplantation Research (CIBMTR). We are also a member of the Pediatric Acute Lung Injury and Sepsis Investigators (PALISI) network. Our Hematopoietic Progenitor Cell Processing Laboratory is staffed with experienced laboratory personnel that provide services to our patients, including, donor cell processing, including T-cell depletions. We also offer extracorporeal photopheresis (ECP), mesenchymal stem cells and other supportive services.

Our Philosophy:

We believe that it takes a team to provide the best possible care for patients undergoing BMT. Starting from our initial BMT consultation, we employ an integrative approach to clinical care.
