Intra-abdominal Solid Tumor Program

The intra-abdominal solid tumor team at the Children’s Hospital at Montefiore (CHAM) provides expert and multi-disciplinary care for children with :

  • Kidney tumors (including Wilms tumor (nephroblastomatosis) and renal cell carcinoma )
  • Liver tumors (including hepatoblastoma and hepatocellular carcinoma)
  • Neuroblastoma (and other tumors including adrenocortical carcinoma and pheochromocytoma )
  • Germ cell tumors (including testicular and ovarian tumors)
  • Other rare tumors and non-malignant conditions requiring chemotherapy including inflammatory myofibroblastic tumors, teratomas, thymomas, hemangiomas, Langerhans cell histiocytosis, and many other conditions .

As a dedicated children’s hospital that is part of Montefiore Medical Center, CHAM is staffed with expert physicians across a range of specialties including pediatric oncology, pediatric surgery,  solid organ transplantation, bone marrow transplantation and cellular therapy, radiation oncology, and orthopedics. Dr. Daniel Weiser, a pediatric oncologist and director of the intra-abdominal solid tumor program, works closely with your family and the CHAM teams to coordinate personalized multi-disciplinary care to ensure the best outcome for your child.

CHAM support staff are an integral part of our team approach in caring for your child. Your child will receive excellent care from dedicated oncology nurses and nurse practitioners, social workers, registered dieticians, wellness staff, physical and occupational therapists, fertility preservation specialists (when appropriate) and child life specialists.
