FELLOWS
Kaitlin Strumph
Dr. Kaitlin Strumph is currently a third year fellow at CHAM. She graduated from the University of Connecticut pediatric residency program (Connecticut Children’s Medical Center), where she helped establish the pediatric heme/onc teaching curriculum for medical students and implement clinical pathways for oncology patients with fever. Dr. Strumph was also recognized with the Housestaff Teaching Commendation for her outstanding accomplishments and commitment to education. She is spending her 2nd and 3rd years as a member of the Einstein Clinical Research Training Program (CRTP), which is a two year master’s program consisting of didactic learning and coursework as well as a mentored research experience. Her project focuses on investigating the acute effects of iron overload on different immune parameters including vaccine response in patients with sickle cell disease.
Leya Schwartz
Dr. Leya Schwartz is currently a second year fellow at CHAM. She completed her pediatrics residency at CHAM. Prior to residency, she attended medical school at Rutgers, Robert Wood Johnson Medical School in NJ. She is currently working on projects looking at off label targeted therapy in refractory sarcoma and rates of serious bacterial infection in children with sickle cell disease. She will be working in the lab of Dr. Amit Verma this coming year.
Meghan Davitt
Dr. Meghan Davitt is currently a first year fellow at CHAM. She received her medical degree at Lewis Katz School of Medicine at Temple University and completed her pediatric residency at Nemours/Alfred I. duPont Hospital for Children. During her training, Dr. Davitt was involved in multiple research projects, including patient safety in pediatric hematology/oncology and discussing an interesting case of hereditary angioedema. She is a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha honor society.
Moriah Rabin
Dr. Moriah Rabin is currently a third year fellow at CHAM. She is a graduate of the CHAM pediatric residency program where she was involved in several research projects including treatments for enuresis in sickle cell disease and hyperglycemia during ALL induction. Dr. Rabin was recognized for her leadership skills and selected to serve a Chief Resident at CHAM. She is working in Dr. Harris Goldstein's lab studying a novel multi-specific anti-CD19 based lentiviral vector that encodes chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) T cells for treatment resistant/refractory B-cell leukemia.
Rachel Offenbacher
Dr. Rachel Offenbacher is currently a first year fellow at CHAM. She received her medical degree at SUNY Downstate Medical Center and completed her pediatrics residency at CHAM. During her residency, Dr. Offenbacher designed a case control study to examine the risk of fever and bacteremia in neutropenic patients and led a QI initiative to educate patients and caregivers newly diagnosed with pediatric cancer. She obtained the CATCH grant through the AAP in 2019 for improving safe sleep. She was a National Program Delegate for the section of pediatric trainees in the AAP, and was inducted into the Leo M. Davidoff Society at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine in 2020.
Yixian (Ethan) Li
