MMG_CHCC_2013_05-1142_316x210CHAM is a leader in the diagnosis and treatment of childhood epilepsy, headaches, autism, neurocutaneous and neuromuscular diseases. We even specialize in neonatal neurology. We provide both inpatient and outpatient treatment for a variety of conditions, and have developed a particularly effective comprehensive treatment for headaches that combines medication and adjunct therapies.

Pediatric Neurology at CHAM features centers that specialize in the diagnosis and treatment of epilepsy, muscular dystrophy, autism, Rett Syndrome, neurofibromatosis and a host of other pediatric neurological disorders. Our intense specialization, coupled with ongoing clinical and scientific research, ensure that each patient receives the thorough diagnosis, cutting-edge treatment and individualized family-focused care they deserve.

PROGRAMS & CENTERS

Comprehensive Epilepsy Center

Founded in 1983, the center is recognized as among the best interdisciplinary epilepsy teams in the country. We treat patients of all ages, and both adult and pediatric epileptologists, neuroradiologists, neurosurgeons, neuropsychologists and neuropathologists offer state-of-the-art epilepsy monitoring and extensive neuropsychological and neurosurgical services for advanced epilepsy treatment.

Muscular Dystrophy Unit

Children referred to the center for the diagnosis and treatment of neuromuscular disorders benefit from our caring, world-renowned experts. Our national funding by the Muscular Dystrophy Association allows us to treat all patients, regardless of their ability to pay.

Clinical Neuroscience Center

The Clinical Neuroscience Center is part of the hospital's efforts to excel in the treatment and management of neurological disorders. Established in 2003, the center provides premium care in specialized neurological disorders at the Comprehensive Epilepsy Management Center and the Sleep Disorders Center.

Neurocutaneous Center

The Montefiore Neurocutaneous Center at CHAM is part of the Tuberous Sclerosis Alliance and Neurofibromatosis Network and specializes in tuberous sclerosis and neurofibromatosis; however, our diverse team of physicians, led by Director Fatema Malbari MD, treats patients with a variety of neurocutaneous disorders.

Center for Excellence in Autism

Our unique focus is to provide effective social skills interventions for children on the autism spectrum. For more than 25 years, the experienced medical and neuropsychological team has been evaluating and treating autistic children with a wide range of language and learning disabilities.

Tri-State Rett Syndrome Center

Our mission is to provide state-of-the-art services for patients with Rett syndrome through intervention, education and research aimed at effective treatments and cures. As the only Rett Syndrome Center in the tri-state area, we’re committed to ensuring that each patient has continuity of care from infancy through adolescence and adulthood.
