Personal Biography
William Sokoloff, MD, MSEd, is an attending physician in the division of Pediatric Emergency Medicine and Assistant Professor of Pediatrics at Montefiore Einstein. Dr. Sokoloff’s clinical focus is in pediatric emergency medicine, particularly patient education around asthma and anaphylaxis.
After receiving his Bachelor of Arts from Tufts University, Dr. Solokoff pursued his medical education at Einstein, earning his Doctor of Medicine in 2015. He completed his pediatric residency at the Children’s Hospital at Montefiore in 2018, and remained for an additional year acting as Chief Resident. He then undertook a three-year pediatric emergency medicine fellowship at Cohen Children’s Medical Center. In 2022, he also completed his Master’s in Health Professions Education at Hofstra University.
Dr. Sokoloff’s research focuses on improving resident education in the busy pediatric emergency department setting, using Just-in-Time teaching for didactics and skills training. He has shared his work through original publications in peer-reviewed journals and presentations at national conferences.
Dr. Sokoloff is board certified in General Pediatrics. He has received many accolades at Montefiore Einstein including the Dr. Edward Padow Award for Excellence in Pediatrics and Community Service in 2015 and the Leo M. Davidoff Award for Excellence in Teaching in 2019. He has been a member of the Gold Humanism Society since 2015 and was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society in 2022 for his commitment to medical education, leadership and academic achievement.
