    • Dr. Reznik focuses on general pediatric health care, with a particular emphasis on treating and effectively managing asthma, as well as practice-based asthma education.
    Research Focus
    • Dr. Reznik focuses on the development and evaluation of community- and school-based interventions to improve the health care services and outcomes for medically underserved minority children with chronic diseases such as asthma and obesity. She is currently the principal investigator on an NIH-funded randomized controlled trial to evaluate a school-based intervention to address barriers to physical activity in students with asthma.

      Dr. Reznik is also the principal investigator (in collaboration with the New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene) on a randomized controlled trial to evaluate the feasibility, health outcomes and return-on-investment of an integrated pest management intervention for Bronx children aged 5 to 12 with persistent asthma, who are living in homes with pests. 

    • Her previous research involved testing the effectiveness of a Community Health Worker-delivered home-based intervention on reducing asthma morbidity in children with persistent asthma. She was a co-investigator on an NIH-funded study to test effectiveness of the classroom-based physical activity intervention (CHAM JAM) on increasing physical activity and fitness of over 8,000 Bronx elementary school students attending 15 Bronx schools.

    Personal Biography

    Marina Reznik, MD, MS, is Attending Physician at Children’s Hospital at Montefiore and Professor of Pediatrics at our Albert Einstein College of Medicine. Her clinical focus is on pediatrics.

    In 1995, Dr. Reznik earned her Bachelor of Arts from Brooklyn College of the City University of New York. She then attended the Albert Einstein College of Medicine, receiving her Doctor of Medicine in 2000. She continued at Albert Einstein College of Medicine for her postgraduate training, completing a three-year residency in Social Pediatrics in 2003. From 2003 to 2005, she was a clinical research fellow at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine, earning her Master of Science in Clinical Research in 2005.

    Dr. Reznik’s research focuses on the development and evaluation of community-, clinic- and school-based interventions to improve the healthcare services and outcomes for medically underserved minority children with asthma. She is an author of over 80 publications in peer-reviewed journals, book chapters and editorials, and her research has been presented both nationally and internationally. 

    In 2019, Dr. Reznik was selected for the New York Super Doctors list in New York Times Magazine. She is board certified and is a member of several professional associations, including the Society for Pediatric Research and the Academic Pediatrics Association.
