Personal Biography
Julia Karinsky, MD, is a pediatric hospitalist at the Children’s Hospital at Montefiore Einstein and Assistant Professor, Pediatrics at our Albert Einstein College of Medicine. Her clinical focus centers on newborn baby care and breastfeeding medicine. Dr. Karinsky believes pediatric hospitalists have a unique opportunity to provide encouragement and education early on to promote sustained breastfeeding.
After earning her Doctor of Medicine at the Technion Israel Institute of Technology in Haifa, Israel, in 2006, Dr. Karinsky completed her Pediatric Residency at Edmond and Lily Safra Children’s Hospital, Sheba Medical Center in Ramat Gan, Israel, in 2011. She then moved to the United States to complete an additional pediatric residency at Cohen Children’s Medical Center in 2015.
Dr. Karinsky’s research focuses on quality improvement projects designed to promote safe sleep practices, identify and overcome barriers to integrating safe sleep and breastfeeding in newborn baby care and implement a safe infant sleep and breastfeeding safety bundle.
Dr. Karinsky is board certified by the American Board of Pediatrics.
