Personal Biography
John Amodio, MD, FACR, is Chief, Radiology and Division Lead, Pediatric Radiology at Children’s Hospital at Montefiore Einstein and Professor, Radiology at our Albert Einstein College of Medicine. Dr. Amodio has 40 years of experience in pediatric imaging. His particular interest is the use of contrast ultrasound in pediatric imaging.
After obtaining his Bachelor of Arts from New York University in 1976, Dr. Amodio earned his Doctor of Medicine at New York Medical College in 1980. He completed a radiology internship at Maimonides Medical Center in 1981, followed by his radiology residency at Montefiore Medical Center in 1984. In 1985, Dr. Amodio completed a pediatric radiology fellowship at NewYork-Presbyterian Morgan Stanley Children’s Hospital.
Dr. Amodio’s research is focused on the role of liver elastography across a wide spectrum of hepatic diseases. His work has been published in numerous peer-reviewed publications and he has given regional, national and international invited teachings and presentations.
Dr. Amodio is board certified by the American Board of Radiology with added qualifications in Pediatric Radiology. He is an elected Fellow of the American College of Radiology and a member of the Society for Pediatric Radiology, the Association of Medical Student Educators in Radiology and the Association of University Radiologists. Dr. Amodio has been named in Castle Connolly’s “Best Doctors, New York Metro Area” since 1999.
