Personal Biography
Hannie Zomer Bolaños, MD, is an attending physician and Assistant Professor, Allergy & Immunology at Montefiore Einstein. Dr. Zomer has a clinical focus in the diagnosis and treatment of food allergy, drug allergy, allergic skin conditions, inborn errors of immunity and immune dysregulation.
In 2014, Dr. Zomer earned her Doctor of Medicine from Universidad Autónoma de Ciencias Médicas in San José, Costa Rica. She later came to the United States for postdoctoral training, completing a three-year pediatric residency at The Brooklyn Hospital Center in 2020, followed by a two-year allergy and immunology fellowship at Einstein in 2022.
Dr. Zomer’s research focuses on anaphylaxis, immunodeficiency, vaccination in immunodeficiency. She has shared her research through abstracts and oral and poster presentations.
Dr. Zomer is board certified in Pediatrics and Allergy and Immunology. She is a Fellow of the American Academy of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology and the American College of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology, and is a member of the Clinical Immunology Society and the New York Allergy and Asthma Society.
