Personal Biography
Giselle Jaconia, MD, is Director, Recruitment, Anesthesiology, Assistant Program Director, Anesthesiology Residency Program and Assistant Professor, Anesthesiology at Montefiore Einstein. Dr. Jaconia has expertise in providing anesthesia services for pediatric patients.
After obtaining her Bachelor of Science in neuroscience and behavior from Columbia University in 2013, Dr. Jaconia earned her Doctor of Medicine at the same institution in 2017. She then completed her residency in anesthesiology at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital – Columbia University in 2021. Dr. Jaconia remained at this institution to continue her medical training, completing a clinical fellowship in pediatric anesthesiology in 2022.
Dr. Jaconia’s research interests include analyzing best practices for teaching residents, the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on residency education, and pediatric sedation for critically ill patients. She has worked on several research projects and her work has been shared through numerous peer-reviewed publications and presentations. Dr. Jaconia also focuses on resident and fellow anesthesiology education and medical simulation.
Dr. Jaconia is a member of the Society for Pediatric Anesthesia, the American Society of Anesthesiologists, the International Anesthesia Research Society and the American Society of Regional Anesthesia. In 2021, she won “Best Paper” at the Society for Obstetric Anesthesiology and Perinatology’s Annual Meeting.
