Personal Biography
Feng Liu, MD, PhD, is an attending psychiatrist at the Children’s Hospital at Montefiore Einstein and Assistant Professor, Psychiatry and Pediatrics at our Albert Einstein College of Medicine. Dr. Liu is a child and adolescent psychiatrist whose clinical practice focuses on the diagnosis and treatment of children with psychiatric and behavioral issues. She focuses on providing advanced and reliable diagnostic and pharmacological interventions for children with severe mental health disorders and developmental disabilities.
After earning her Doctor of Medicine at Tongji Medical University in Wuhan, China, in 1985, Dr. Liu moved to the United States to continue her medical training, earning her Doctor of Philosophy in biology at the State University of New York at Binghamton in 1993. She completed her psychiatry residency at Montefiore Einstein in 2001, followed by a fellowship in child & adolescent psychiatry at New York University School of Medicine, Bellevue Hospital Center, in 2003.
Dr. Liu’s research focuses on effective psychopharmacological treatment for common comorbid psychiatric disorders, such as attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) or mood disorders, in developmentally delayed children and adolescents. Her work has been shared through numerous peer-reviewed publications and scientific meetings.
Dr. Liu is board certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology in Psychiatry with a subspecialty certification in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry. She is a member of the American Psychiatric Association and the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry. Dr. Liu is fluent in English and Chinese.
