Personal Biography
Elisa I. Muñiz, MD, MS, is Director of the Developmental-Behavioral Pediatrics Fellowship Program at Children’s Hospital at Montefiore. Dr. Muñiz’s clinical focus is in the evaluation and management of children with developmental and behavioral issues.
Dr. Muñiz received her Bachelor of Science in 1998 from Binghamton University, State University of New York. In 2003, she received her Doctor of Medicine from Weill Cornell Medical College. Dr. Muñiz received her Master of Science with distinction in 2013 from Albert Einstein College of Medicine. From 2003 to 2006, she completed an internship and residency in pediatrics at the University of Miami/Jackson Memorial Medical Center. From 2006 to 2007 she served as Chief Resident. In 2013, she completed a fellowship in Developmental-Behavioral Pediatrics at the Children?s Hospital at Montefiore.
Dr. Muñiz’s research has focused on the relationship between early childhood routines and young children’s emotional development. Her work has been published in a number of journals and presented at lectures nationally.
Dr. Muñiz is board certified by the American Board of Pediatrics in General Pediatrics and Developmental-Behavioral Pediatrics. Dr. Muñiz is a member of the Society of Developmental-Behavioral Pediatrics.
