Personal Biography
Angela R. Verardo, MD, is Director, Pediatric Endocrine Bone Clinic at the Children’s Hospital at Montefiore Einstein and Assistant Professor, Pediatric Endocrinology at our Albert Einstein College of Medicine. Dr. Verardo sees a variety of patients with endocrine disorders and has a particular interest in children with rare and metabolic bone disorders.
After obtaining her Bachelor of Science in biology from Northeastern University in 2007, Dr. Verardo earned her Doctor of Medicine at New York Medical College in 2012. She completed her pediatrics residency at New York University School of Medicine in 2015, followed by a pediatric endocrinology fellowship at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine in 2018.
Dr. Verardo’s research interests include improvement in the management of bone health in patients at risk of fracture as well as new treatment modalities for patients with rare bone conditions. Her work has been published in numerous peer-reviewed journal articles, abstracts, chapters, review articles and posters, and she has shared her work through many invited talks. Dr. Verardo enjoys giving back to the scientific process by being a reviewer for journals and society meetings.
Dr. Verardo is board certified by the American Board of Obesity Medicine and the American Board of Pediatrics in Pediatric Endocrine and General Pediatrics. She is a member of several professional organizations, including the Pediatric Endocrine Society, the American Society for Bone and Mineral Metabolism Research and the International Society for Children’s Bone Health. She is a board member of the Human Growth Foundation, which allows her to work on advocacy and education for children and adults with rare growth, bone and endocrine disorders. In 2023, Dr. Verardo was selected to be the Jersey City Healthcare Ambassador for JDRF One Walk for her previous advocacy for children with diabetes. She also enjoys volunteering at Camp Nejeda, a camp for children with diabetes.
