Personal Biography
Alexa B. Goldfarb, DO, is an attending physician and Assistant Professor, Pediatric Gastroenterology at Montefiore Einstein. Dr. Goldfarb’s clinical interests include general pediatric gastroenterology and treating patients with abdominal pain, constipation, difficulty swallowing, poor weight gain and more.
After obtaining her Bachelor of Science in psychology from Union College in 2012, Dr. Goldfarb earned her Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine at Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine in 2017. She completed her residency in pediatrics at Connecticut Children’s Medical Center in 2020 and her fellowship in pediatric gastroenterology, hepatology, and nutrition at Hassenfeld Children’s Hospital at NYU Langone in 2023.
Building on her clinical focus, Dr. Goldfarb’s research focuses on inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), particularly advancing the understanding of why children develop IBD. She has worked on many research projects and her work has been shared through numerous peer-reviewed publications, abstracts and poster presentations.
Dr. Goldfarb is a Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatrics. She is a member of the American Academy of Pediatrics, the North American Society for Pediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition, the American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy and the American Gastroenterological Association.
