Personal Biography
Michelle M. Perez, MD, is the Program Director, Pediatric Critical Care Medicine Fellowship at Children’s Hospital at Montefiore Einstein and Assistant Professor, Pediatrics at our Albert Einstein College of Medicine. Dr. Perez has a clinical focus in acute respiratory distress syndrome and predictors of long-term outcomes in critically ill children.
After earning her Bachelor of Arts at Johns Hopkins University in 2010, Dr. Perez attended Tufts University School of Medicine, earning her Doctor of Medicine in 2014. She began her postgraduate training as a pediatric resident at Icahn School of Medicine Mount Sinai from 2014 to 2017. She then pursued a pediatric critical care fellowship at Montefiore-Einstein, completing it in 2020.
Dr. Perez’s research is focused on improving multidisciplinary education regarding responses to emergencies. She also has an interest in how socioeconomic determinants impact risk of and recovery from critical illness. Her work has appeared in peer-reviewed journals, abstracts and poster presentations.
Dr. Perez is board certified in general pediatrics and pediatric critical care medicine. She is a member of the American Academy of Pediatrics, the Society of Critical Care Medicine and the New York Society of Pediatric Critical Care Medicine.
