Personal Biography
Katherine R. Baumann, MD, MS, is an attending physician at Children’s Hospital at Montefiore Einstein and Assistant Professor, Pediatrics at our Albert Einstein College of Medicine. Her clinical focus is on general pediatrics.
After obtaining her Bachelor of Science in human biology from Cornell University in 2011, Dr. Baumann earned her Master of Science in human nutrition at Columbia University in 2013. She then earned her Doctor of Medicine at George Washington University in 2018 before completing her pediatric residency at Children’s Hospital at Montefiore in 2021. Following this, Dr. Baumann earned her Master of Science in population health research at Boston University in 2023 while completing a general academic pediatrics fellowship at Boston Medical Center the same year.
Dr. Baumann’s scholarly interests have focused on community engagement and patient-centered programs addressing nutrition education, food insecurity and health communication with a focus on patient empowerment and health literacy. She has also studied access to and equity of telemedicine services during the COVID-19 pandemic. Her work has been published in several peer-reviewed journals.
Dr. Baumann is board certified by the American Board of Pediatrics in General Pediatrics. She is a member of the American Academy of Pediatrics and the Academic Pediatric Association.
