Personal Biography
Charlotte W. Chen, DO, is an attending physician, Pediatric Endocrinology & Diabetes at Children’s Hospital at Montefiore. Dr. Chen’s clinical focus is in improving biomedical and psychosocial outcomes in youth with chronic endocrinopathies.
A graduate of the New York Institute of Technology, Dr. Chen received her Bachelor of Science in Life Science from the institute in 2012 followed by her Doctor of Osteopathy from the institute’s College of Osteopathic Medicine in 2016. She completed her pediatrics residency at Robert Wood Johnson Medical School in 2019, then pursued a clinical fellowship in pediatric endocrinology at Boston Children’s Hospital, completing it in 2022. During this time, she also pursued a two-year research fellowship with Joslin Diabetes Center, completing it in 2022.
Dr. Chen’s research focuses on advancing diabetes technology use and reducing health inequality for youth with type 1 diabetes mellitus. She has shared her work through peer-reviewed publications, book chapters and abstracts.
Dr. Chen is board certified in Pediatric Endocrinology and is a member of several professional societies including the American Diabetes Association, Endocrine Society, Pediatric Endocrinology Society and the International Society of Pediatric and Adolescent Diabetes.
