Systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE or lupus) is a devastating autoimmune disease that can affect almost any organ in the body. Lupus nephritis involves the kidneys in lupus and, in itself is a complex disease, Nephritis can happen anytime in the course of the disease, but is more common in children with lupus. Managing the unique challenge of lupus patients with kidney disease requires the expertise and coordination of physicians from different disciplines. Our clinic provides access to a team of physicians and supporting experts from various fields during one visit, and ensures early detection of disease and immediate intervention, if needed.

Symptoms treated include

  • Unexplained swelling in extremities (feet, ankles, legs, arms) or around the eyes
  • Blood in the urine
  • Elevated blood pressure
  • Foamy appearance to the urine

Lupus patients, in general, can have many other symptoms
